Restored patinated terracotta signed Gaston Hauchecorne

Gaston HAUCHECORNE born in Le Havre on September 10, 1880 and died in Paris, April 8, 1945. He was a professor and interpreter in Beijing and director of the Chongqing consulate. He exhibited from the early 1920s at the Salon des Artistes Français and participated in the colonial national exhibition in Marseille in 1922. The models were executed in natural terracotta or bronze.Hauchecorne is part of the group of progressive sculptor artists "La Stèle" founded by the art editor Arthur Goldscheider. Their work will be exhibited in 1925 under the title Art Deco in a pavilion designed by Eric Bagge at the international exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
